BFS is supporting The Hive’s fantastic Christmas appeal to help support young people in need from across Wirral.
BFS has been working with the Wirral-based youth charity throughout 2021, funding the role of a full-time mentee, who provides vital training and support for the charities mentors.
This Christmas, BFS will continue to demonstrate its support by giving to The Hive’s festival appeal.
With around one in three of all young people on the Wirral currently living in poverty, Christmas can be a very difficult time of the year and the Hive has asked for donations of gifts suitable for young people between the ages of 8 and 18, as well as donations to help provide food for the festive period.
Jeanette Gwatkin of BFS explained: “As a Wirral based business it’s so important that we work with local charities and organisations that have a significant impact on the area in which we live, and the people who live here.
“This Christmas, we will be making a cash donation to the Hive which we understand will be used to create food packages for those most in need. We’re pleased to further develop our partnership with the Hive, exploring new ways in which we can show our support and understand the challenges they face in delivering their vital services.”
Head fundraiser at the Hive, Catherine Sandow said, ‘It’s a very sad fact but without the kind donations from our supporters and patrons, many of our young people simply won’t receive a gift this year and some may even go hungry. Christmas is all about giving, spending time with family and creating special memories. If we can spread a little bit of joy, even in a small way, it might just help to make Christmas a little bit more bearable for some of our young people in need.
