BFS team amongst UK’s first to pursue specialist finance qualification

Six team members from Bridging Finance Solutions (BFS) are amongst the first in the UK to take part in the new Certified Practitioner in Specialist Property Finance (CPSP) learning programme.

A joint initiative between the Association of Short-Term Lenders (ASTL), Financial Intermediary & Broker Association (FIBA) and the London Institute of Banking & Finance (LIBF), CPSP is an e-learning programme that covers bridging, short-term finance, development finance and specialist buy-to-let.

BFS team members working towards the qualification operate across various parts of the business, each recognising the benefit of securing the CPSP in relation to their role.

BFS Managing Director, Steve Barber, sits on the executive board of the ASTL and wrote one of the modules for the programme. He explained: “It’s incredibly important that we have a qualification that is directly related to our industry, and it’s great now to see this formally launched and fully operational. This will hopefully encourage more young people to move into the industry, following the path of a formal education programme.

“I wanted to not only demonstrate my support for the new qualification but ensure that members of the team were amongst the first to take part.”

The CPSP programme provides a definitive and targeted education programme for the short-term and specialist lending sector, and participants who complete the modules will be recognised through the award of an LIBF digital badge and are accredited for CPD purposes. Training is expected to be completed within 12 months.
